Ronda.vet is a startup founded by a practicing veterinary surgeon. This platform tackles a critical problem in the UK market: struggling clinics who seek verified temporary specialists (locums) for seasonal workload spikes. Ronda.vet is now the UK's #1 platform for rapid veterinary locum search.
Challenges
The client needed a system to automatically verify licenses and documents, giving clinics access to qualified veterinarians and locums to legitimate job orders. As the founders say: "It's a new, easier, faster and better way to book veterinary locum work in the UK!"
Anadea's task was to digitize a process familiar to clinics and doctors. However, during the discovery phase for the MVP development, our team encountered some challenges that complicated the entire process.

Absence of Market Analogues
Ronda.vet was created in a unique niche where no ready-made solutions existed. This necessitated building the platform's entire logic from scratch: from the registration and vetting processes for doctors to the mechanics of booking shifts and communication between clinics and locums. Everything had to be meticulously developed, guided by the real-world needs of the industry rather than existing templates.

Need for Automated Document Verification
The risks associated with locum vets were a top priority. In the UK, some migrants worked with forged certificates from the Royal Veterinary College or expired work visas. Hence, Anadea had to create a multi-layered verification system (passport, biometrics, visa, license) with automatic cross-referencing of data against official sources. It was key to avoid manual oversight.

Limited Resources at the MVP Stage
As an early-stage startup, funding was limited. Therefore, it was crucial to clearly define only necessary functionality for the first product version. We needed to prioritize features to achieve maximum value for the end-user within the available budget.
Solution
In response to the complex requirements for security, performance, and scalability, the Anadea team developed a fully functional two-sided platform (for locums and clinics) featuring both a web interface and mobile applications for iOS and Android.
Step 1
Building a Shared Vision for the Technical Solution
The client's team possessed deep expertise in veterinary practice but lacked prior experience in digital product development. This created a need for close communication and synchronization – the Anadea team presented architectural solutions, UX flows, and functional priorities in detail to ensure full understanding and a shared project vision.
Step 2
Cross-Platform App with One Codebase
The full-stack platform with mobile apps was developed under tight deadlines using a technical solution: the React web app was packaged into native mobile containers using Capacitor (Ionic's framework). This enabled a single codebase for web, iOS, and Android platforms with minimal adjustments. This also helped slash development expenses and ensured the iOS app's timely release on the App Store.
Step 3
Automated Multi-Level Identity Verification
Automated multi-tiered verification is the core of the client’s security system. We integrated service APIs to automate checks for:
- Passport validity and biometric authentication via photo capture,
- RCVS certificates via the Royal Veterinary College website,
- Expiry dates of migrant work visas.
To resolve data discrepancies (e.g., name spelling variations), we added OpenAI integration – its models analyze inconsistencies to confirm or reject user identity.
Step 4
Dynamic Pricing and Invoicing System
We implemented a flexible pricing module that factors in the number of shifts, regional demand, and user type (clinic or locum). This model automatically calculates the cost of each shift and generates detailed monthly invoices for clinics in PDF format. In the future, the platform is set to support in-app payments.
Step 5
Comprehensive Security and Access Management
To ensure security and access control, the following measures were implemented:
- Integrated chat between clinics and locums is activated only during the shift booking and auto-archiving after one week. Contact filtering prevents platform circumvention.
- A scheduling system lets clinics post shifts up to a year in advance with geolocation – locums receive push notifications for nearby shifts.
- An RBAC-enabled admin panel allows for manual verification, revocation, or blocking of suspicious users.
- Security technologies include JWT authentication, data encryption, and automated monthly invoice generation for clinics based on pricing tiers.
